OUR APPROACH

WE WANT TO PROTECT WHAT IS PRICELESS – OUR PLANET AND ITS PEOPLE. WE GIVE 1% OF OUR SALES TO THE PLANET. THAT'S 1% OF OUR TURNOVER, NOT PROFIT, EVERY YEAR EVEN WHEN IT'S TOUGH.
HOW DO WE GIVE BACK?

WE ARE MEMBERS OF 1% FOR THE PLANET

Each year, we are held accountable to contribute 1% of our
revenue to impactful environmental partners. As a team, we choose charities
that work to protect what matters.

THE FELIX PROJECT

London's largest food redistribution charity fighting food waste and hunger. Their mission is to see a London where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted. With the cost-of-living crisis in the UK, we as a team felt passionate about supporting vulnerable people in our local area. E.C One gave financially to the ‘Big Give Christmas Challenge’ at The Felix Project. The money given helped stop thousands of children and families from going hungry over the winter period. It enabled them to rescue and redistribute just under 14,500 meals. E.C. One also sent 2 teams of volunteers to help at The Felix Project warehouse in Poplar, East London. Each team spent the day unpacking and relabelling food boxes. The food was then combined, wrapped and loaded into Felix Project vans to distribute. This work helped them rescue and redistribute a further 2,700 meals.

TREES FOR CITIES

The only UK charity working nationally and internationally to improve lives by planting trees in cities. They get stuck in with local communities to cultivate lasting change in their neighbourhoods – revitalising forgotten spaces, creating healthier environments or getting people excited about growing, foraging and eating nutritious food. As a team we decided to volunteer with Trees for Cities for the day. The task for the day was to care for newly planted trees in a local park by removing weeds and mulching the beds to improve the saplings' chances of survival. ‘The whole day was really rewarding, knowing that we had contributed time and effort to improving local community space.’

We always want to lead by example and see real cultural change within the gold industry. That is why we have donated funds to ARM. The Alliance for Responsible Mining was established in 2004. Their mission is to develop artisanal and small-scale gold mining communities. ARM works with the miners to help transform the way in which they mine. Subsequently improving the environment and quality of life for the artisanal miners and their communities.  EC One has given money to ARM to conduct an essential carbon and water footprint assessment, at a small-scale gold Mine in the Cauca Region, Colombia. This assessment will provide essential information and guidelines tothe mining community to improve their environmental footprints.
